About Cath

Early years

I started out as an actor training at the Royal Conservatoire for Scotland, before going on to work in theatre, TV and radio. In 2001 I further developed my study of communication by training as a voice coach at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I gained an MA Voice Studies. That's where my understanding of how the voice actually works came from.

In 2005 I joined Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and became Head of Voice the following year. I have had the privilege to train and learn from some of the best actors and musical theatre performers in the UK including 6 Olivier Award winners.

Present

In 2019 I made the decision to leave and set up on my own. A few years earlier I had started speaking at the Women into Leadership conference and found my tribe: women in the public sector, there to serve, who wanted to communicate with more confidence and impact. Between 2016 and 2019 I was invited into department after department, and my private coaching practice was turning clients away. It was time to make the leap.

Since then I've worked with over 40 public sector and civil service departments, as well as a wide range of corporate businesses. In 2025/26 I was named Corporate Delivery Solution of the Year at the Women into Leadership Awards.
